Mr.Ansar Ali of Dogachi is showing us the weaving procedures
In the recent years a good number of weavers from Enayetpur and other Jamuna bank region  have migrated to the Pabna  region.They are diong well.The famous Pabna lungi,Gamcha,Sari are woven here. In the above picture Mr.Ansar Ali of Dogachi is showing us the weaving procedures.Due to the flood and erosion of the river Jamuna Jolas and Tantis(the Bangla ords for weavers) are compelled to migrate to Pabna Sadar region.

The world cup football was in the center of every discussion in the first week of June .But the defeat of Argentina probably have shocked even the Pabnites much.It was a painfull task for them to take away their favorite team's flag from the rooftop.However Brasil and Korea's performance have created an atmosphere of enthusiasm for world cup.

*Mr. Shimul Biswas(44),renowned Pabnite and politician has been appointed as the Chairman of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation(BIWTC) on the 20th June 2002.


*Digital telephone exchange installed  in Chatmohar

*Traffic islands at Radhanagar bridge and near newmarket are under construction.

*after enjoying around one month of summer vacation students of both primary and secondary level schools have started again their going to school.

*Pabna students who showed extraordinary performance in the year 2001s HSC examination, were honored in a cremony held at Rashid Hall of District Board.The Dulai Dr.Jahurul Kamal College students achived the 2nd and 7th places,Pabna Govt. Bulbul College 1st and 8th among the girls,Pabna Govt. Women's College 4th. place

national Professor Nilima Ibrahim(81)passed away on the 18th June,2002.Here in the picture she is seen in the middle with the Pabna Family Planning Association members in Commilla in 1997.
