  Mr.Mustafizur Rahman,popularly known Arju vai,the founder and the owner of  BIKIKINI-the first book store of Pabna in post liberation era, that is after 1971.Bikikini is situated in Pabna New Market.Pabna born authors and writers living home and abroad have good contact with Mr.Arju,they leave several copies of their book at this store. School and college students find their Sheba prokashoni serials and novels here.

*Mr.Amzad Hossain,police super of Manikganj has become the new SP of Pabna.His predicessor,Mr.Altaf Hossain Mollah has been transferred to Rangamati.Source:Prothom-Alo,29th Nov.2001.

*The traffic island at Pabna Zero point is under full reconstruction. It is expected to be finished in December.

*The road beside the Pabna police parade ground is renovated and widened in last month. Now rickshaws and other transports can move smoothly from the court to Pabna stadium. However the old bridge from the British Raj period, which was named Elliot bridge connecting the two sides of the then Ichamoti  reconstructed  in the 1995 and a small culvert-bridge constructed instead. At least it has eased the toil of the rickshawpullars,they can now paddle their transport without extra effort. However the once Ichamoti river inside Pabna town is heavily siltrated and requires immediate excavation.

*Mr.Kazi Monwar Hossain,has been elected as district scout commissioner of Pabna.He is popular teacher of Bangla,started career at Pabna Zilla School. Currently, he is officiating Headmaster of Pabna Govt. Girl's High School.15th Nov.01

 
*In this week, here local The Engineer's club, Ladies' Club, District Sports Association are arranging their own Iftar party and prayer.3-10th nov.2001.

*The Pabna Shomiti Dhaka held it's annual stipend giving ceremony at Banamali auditorium on the 27th November,2001.The outgoing president of this association,Prof.Anwar Hossain,Vice-Chancellor of The OIC Islamic University was among the honorable guests in the ceremony.

*Pabna based band Give Song made a band music show on the 12th November at Dulai.The show was arranged by Dulai Janakalyan Sangstha,a local NGO.The band leader Lazuk, who is a daily Nirvor reporter, told us that he is looking for a sponsor for providing more musical instrument for his band group.

 
 On the 3rd and 4th December,2001 a two days long plastic surgery operation camp took place in the local Popular General Hospital at Shalgaria.This was aimed for helping the distressed and the downtrodden class patients to get free plastic operation service free of cost.
 
 Pabna born expert physicians-Prof.Khalilur Rahman(anesthetist),Prof.Omar Ali,Dr.Hasan Sarwar Manik(specialist in Plastic surgery) were in the management and from Dhaka came Prof.S.Aurora,Dr.Khoair uddin Ahmed.This is for the first time, people here in Pabna gets the facility of plastic surgery at their door step and cost free.
